Ivy Hills Country Club Wedding | Autumn Wedding Details With Floral Verde

In July I was honored to work with so many talented wedding vendors for a styled wedding shoot at Ivy Hills Country Club in Cincinnati. Our models, Amber and John were kind enough to hang around for most of the day while Janet, the florist and I set up tables, chairs etc.

I created two different looks for our bride and groom.  For the first look John wore a Navy suit from Express paired with a navy shirt and tie for a formal, clean look.  This look really highlighted the boutonniere.  The bride, Amber, wore a wedding gown designed by Antonio Gual, For Tulle New York, from Lace Bridal Couture.  Kelly, the owner of Lace, suggested a beaded caplet for a glamorous feel.  I loved the idea of the beaded caplet because it can be easily added as a bride transitions to her evening look. Her hair was styled by Caralee of Sweetly Pinned Hair in a tight, low side bun to add to the glamorous feel and really completed the whole look!

For Amber's second look I selected a blush tulle skirt from Lace Bridal Couture and paired it with a lace turtleneck that I found on the clearance rack at Forever 21 [hello, $8!!] I love adding color into wedding attire – putting a little twist on tradition.  The hint of blush really stood out in the images and made Amber's skin tone look flawless. The bouquet also looked great in contrast with the blush skirt and beaded belt.

From Janet of Floral Verde - Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year.  I wanted to celebrate its abundance with an earthy color palette of brown, gold, nude, ivory and green.  It’s a harvest palette that’s rich and elegant, creating the feeling of warmth, while avoiding the standard combination of red, orange and yellow.  Most of the flowers and foliage were sourced locally, with blooms coming from four nearby farms and foliage cut right from my cutting garden.

Jenny and I reinforced this rich, elegant feeling by selecting the serene setting of Ivy Hills Country Club. It feels more like a slice of Appalachian foothills with its rolling terrain and panoramic views.  The setting, paired with the neutral, yet beautiful, wainscoted dining rooms made Ivy Hills perfect for our shoot.

The tabletop was simple and elegant with silver flatware, Riedel stemware, amber glass chargers, and champagne-toned votives atop a Victorian Lace tablecloth from All Occasions Event Rental.  The single large centerpiece included the unusual textures of ruffled rudbeckia, tomatoes on the vine, red jewel millet and sunflower buds.  The tableau was enhanced with the warm tones of wood vineyard chairs.
