Emmaline Marie | 3 Years

Our little girl is turning 3! That whole "my kid is growing up thing" is always a little bittersweet to swallow. Especially looking back at her 2 year portraits and my how much she's grown! We've been so blessed to have Emmaline in our lives. She's got her daddy's wit, and she's as stubborn as they come [but I won't claim that one :)] I took her portraits a little early this year since there's a good chance her little brother coming [this Friday!] will overshadow her birthday in early Feb.

A bubblegum birthday cake [not quite sure what that means?] and pizza have been requested so stay tuned--even if the party is small and simple, a few of her wishes will still come true.

Of course there was a short break to pick her nose ;)

I always try my best to photograph my kids in their element. I love that her toes are half painted from chipping polish, and there are specks of paint on her fingers from using her easel this morning. She loves to paint. While I have to give the Mini Boden catalog a little credit for some of the inspiration behind this shoot--I knew she'd love to play with the fake flowers. I found them at a thrift store for cheap cheap. She even let me put some blush on her cheeks and curl her hair. She always begs to sit on the counter while I do my make-up so that was a treat.

Wishing you all the happiest Monday!
